Help with driving lamp wire connections anyone? |
|
I have had my driving lamps fitted for a while. They are the Land Rover ones mounted on the A bar. I have made all the under bonnet connections, inserted fuse etc. I have mounted the switch and connected the wires to the grey plugs and joined them into the loom at the rear of the headlight switch. I have connected the earth eye to the correct point. I then have a single black wire which the instructions say go to a green plug pin 13 located under the dash. Having searched high and low I dont seem to have the correct green plug. I have one which I have unplugged but it did not have enough pins in. So does anyone know where this blasted plug is? or where the single black goes on a 54 plate which may not even have the plug? I do know that the function will need to be activated on the car once its all sorted and wired up.

It's been a few years since I read the aux driving lamp instructions....
I seem to remember that there is a connection to the CJB - I have a feeling that this could be the green plug you're looking for...... 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

..yes, green plug, up behind the glove box, next to the bulkhead, and its a to get out. The locking tang is behind the plug, and very difficult to release.

Nice one thanks guys. Following left hand drive instructions did not help but thats all that seem to be on the info site. Will get me glovebox back out and take a look - I was looking in the drivers side for it.

Hi
REgarding the green plug thats definately it behind the glove box just a small tip if you undo the two ten millimeter nuts that hold the fuse box in the box drops a couple of inches and you can get your hand in to push the clip in
cheers

Don't do what i did and spend hours trying to get the lights to work once you have connected it all up - only to find you have to have the live supply turned on by a dealer!

I had followed this subject, I tried for ages to find the legendary GREEN plug, so in the end I used a special tool called TFC, he did mine and loom on a service. Job done
