Help...massive school boy error with wet key fob
Hi all, i am on holiday in France and have just submerged my key fob and now my car doesn’t start. You can probable guess where my spare key is. What are my options if any?
I assume the immobiliser is not activating.
I have a iid tool and the transponder codeb1b01-87(2f) is active.

Wash fob off if salt water.
Put in a tub of rice over night.
Pray.
I guess this is where Mr. AA works his magic

Lesson 1 - always take your spare key on holiday
Lesson 2 - don't take your key in the pool/sea.
You might recover it by splitting it open, it'll dry more quickly. Richard

When you say remove battery, I take it you mean from the fob, It seems reluctant to be removed.
I think I may not be thinking straight.
I am more annoyed with myself.

Yes take the battery out, certainly before you start pressing buttons. This will give it the best chance to recover if you put it in rice overnight...

Take your time remove battery and dry with a low heat for hours rather than using a hair dryer etc.
The first tip though is don't try to use it but I guess we've passed that.
Might need a new battery once it's dry.Disco 4 2012

3phase, can anyone sent via whatever fast method exists (post, TNT, FedEx) your spare to you?

I am trying to get the spare sent😬
It was only just a moment on the water before I realised. The issue is the the amount of use it has had it has a small hole on the unlock, so this is how water got in. I opened the case up pretty quickly but not quickly enough.
I am still unable to get the battery out as it seems soldered top and bottom.
