If they are the xenons then there is a little lever inside the headlight that can be moved up/down to set for France or UK. Do a search am sure there is some photos some where.

It really is very quick and easy... my 13 year-old did mine in about 10 minutes the other day (I don't normally bother, but I was fitting a new intercooler hose and he wanted to help, so I got him to do that) Thumbs Up

Cheers guys also found this one

As I'm off to France and Switzerland in May, I have been checking out the recommended method, from the handbook, for changing the headlight aim. It took me about 5 minutes to remove grille, one head light unit and disconnect wiring, thus enabling me to reach the switch to change over the beam. It's a bit of pain, but is fairly straightforward. The lever is in the up position for UK, so has to be moved down for abroad.

Setting Disco 4 lights for European driving

Easy job but a bit of a joke - pop grille out, remove headlamps by lifting the 2 slide catches on each, take big cap off the back of the main light and inside next to the wiring block on the lamp there's a lever which is up for UK and down for Europe. My wife's SLK has the same thing but I can do hers without removing the headlights.
Silly arangement - most people would have to go to their main dealer for this which would be expensive, and then agin to have them reset on their return. Added to that they would be driving illegally in UK while the lights are set to LHD.

Setting xenon headlights for European driving

Hi

Just looked at previous pictures for setting headlights to LHD driving but when I have taken my headlights out to change my xenon headlights do not have the small lever to adjust. Mine Disco is a 2006 S 2.7

Any help as drive to France on Sunday, got stickers but thought I could adjust, are there different types of xenon headlights that came out in 2006?

Have added a picture of my light so you can see no lever

Thanks John

Regarding swapping them back ... No need. It doesn't make them LHD, it makes them "flat" with no extra bit pointing at left hand kerb. You'll not notice a big difference IMHO.

Last time I didn't change them back for the UK on my D3 and went through MoT without any comment, which is probably not surprising as it ends up with a flat cut off on dip, which I think is the same as D4's

In umpteen trips on the continent & Tunisia, and tens and tens of thousands of miles driving over there in my D4 and 4,500 miles in the D4, never changed my headlights, no facility to do so in the D3 as was either on halogens or non adaptive xenons. Never been flashed once, never pulled over, never fined a small fortune or even fined a large fortune. This includes 5 road trips to N Scandinavia on xenons in Scandinavian DRL mode so on for every mile. Thumbs Up

I guess that very soon having the e-cars all things (so lights too) will be adjusted automatically thanks to the software. All specific regulations will be stored in the comp's memory and simply... you will cross the border and lights will change Rolling with laughter

Putting my lever up makes them flat putting down adds a bit more light through

So correct me if Iā€™m wrong the lever should be up for Europe
