High miles

Looking at a 2004 HSE Disco with 220k on, decent history and good condition. Question is, is it more likely to go wrong than a 150k example ? or should a lot of the problems have been taken care of ?
Lastly, what would be a ball park valuation ?

Thanks

At them sort of miles you are likely to encounter the big problems for a second time.

Value is obviously not a lot, I would say sub 3k and maybe even less, after all who else is going to want it after you? it is after all a 15yr old car with big miles, either of them things would scare most people away, add them both together and the market must be tiny.

My theory was that a £3k car is probably no more likely to go wrong than a 6k car with 150k miles, and if it does, l've only lost half the money.

But could be wrong.

A £3K car with high mileage that has been properly maintained will far outlast a lower mileage £6K car that’s been abused.

Both are a gamble frankly, so do your research and budget for some preventative maintenance regardless.

I bought a £4K 2005 with 134,000 and put cash aside to do the basics. Spent £7K in all but happy the major items are now done.
