Horn

Horn sounds a bit weedy.

How many horns does it have - 1 or 2 - and how do I access it/them?

Ta.

2 a high & a low tone - one in the middle behind the grill, the other on the side of the grill tucked in next to the headlamp - think it's the left hand lamp from memory

Did they ever return your horn or do you still have one that asks people politely to move out of the way? Laughing

I have the same problem, one on the left and nothing in the middle! Big Cry

horns

Hi
The horns are located behind the front grill one is on the drivers side in full view when you take the grill off and the other is tucked down behind the piller that the grill clips into on the passenger side you will have to remove the headlight on the passenger side to get to it, its abit fiddly but you can get to it ones about £6.00 the other about £15.00
cheers

As I think everyone agree, the volume from the horns is abysmal. Without upgrading to airhorns and stuff that need relays and additional current, what alternatives are there... any recommendations?

Horns

Hi
When you get the original dual tone horns new from Landrover they arnt that bad but they do sound terrible if they are old units as they will be on there way out but the new horns are slightly modified to stop the water getting to them.
If you require something louder then hella do a red and black coloured ones in dual tone and they are quite loud
but you will have to cut the OE terminals off and replace them with 6.3 spades
cheers

I believe you Smile Think I'll disconnect the one one the left and see if I hear anything from the other.

Would you say its enough with standard replacements? Just thinking that Hella's might be a bit OTT? Don't want to give any old ladies heart attacks now Whistle

If you have the early d3 the horsn are fitted lh and rh.

If you then purchase the later d3/4 horns they fit directly in the middle behind grille, wire all of them up and hey presto, 4 horns giving out a right blast.

Cost £16.00 for the later horns with the bracket included from LandRover.
