Been to have a look at a friends D3 HSE as the sat nav is not working. In the top left corner of the sat nav there is the word GPS with a diagnonal red line through so obviously the car can not see any satellites for some reason. At the moment the car thinks its in Scotland (that where it went wrong) when it's actually in Dronfield  I have pulled the plastic cover down of the roof at the back of the car and everything there is connected properly - where else should I check for a loose connection? Woody,
Have you checked that rogue escaped shopping/evil kiddie fingers haven't been loosening the connectors on the back of the sat nav computer, under the passenger seat? Be careful wiggling the optical ones which don't like too much stress; IIRC these are orange. Dr. Ian Malcolm:

There are no fiber optic ones on the nav computer ..there are blue GVIF ones ...  G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Check the the GPS connector ..one on the left as you look under the passenger seat ( from middle row ) G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

You were both spot on , loose connection on the GPS connector, disconnected it and bent the metal collar down a bit more and it's all working again but now the car is saying that the bonnet is open all the time  - seen that one discussed on here so I will search for it. 1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold
