Sorry to hear of your problems Sad

Sounds like another "doesn't care" dealer. Sadly they are out there, and are winding up customers to the extent that they are leaving LR forever.

There are better dealers out there, and there's nothing to stop you using one of them instead. I can't recommend personally, but there should be forum members who can let you know who you might be better off with.

My advice is move away from that dealer, they obviously don't require your business and have made it fairly clear they don't care about you as a current or potential customer.

It does annoy me that some car dealers (for many brands) still act like this and damage the manufacturer's image. I'm amazed they don't lose their franchises Evil or Very Mad

BCP, I would contact your regional LR CS Manager and no less. Complain about the dealership service, with the comment that you will return the car. Reasons we can asist with on Monday better than this evening. Contact Winger and Lawman, they may be able to assist, but do it via private mail at this stage. Hope this helps. Is the dealer with whom you are a tad miffed the same bunch who flogged you the dud in the first place?

Your position is made more interesting because who have a LR issue and a dealer issue (LR for the steering; dealer for the Nissan Micra detector sensors).

The engine misfire? That could, of course, just be an ironic coincidence......

As BN says, it is sort of late to be creative. And I am still exhausted from trying to keep up with the pace from last night on the forum........... Confused

It is a general feeling of intense disappointment. I had a Disco2 that spent a large part of its life leaking oils and having bits replaced. I had hoped that this car would be more reliable and that the dealership would have some degree of on-going responsibility (even if it is aimed at selling another car). I'll see what tomorrow brings.

Yes, did try all the others but got the best deal from them (took the D2 back).

Without some more history and looking in from the outside, it does appear that you may have a problem dealer than the cars.

I am not sure exactly what thoughts it is that you are looking for.

It doesn't seem to me that you have either a long list of problems, or a single problem that is not resolved after several attempts.

If you are just miffed with the dealer, change to another. There are plenty around.

Point of clarification:

The work on the distance sensors is covered under the Supply of Goods and Services Act. If the supplier cannot or will not correct a problem relating to installation, you are lawfully able to have a 3rd party undertake the rectification work and claim the cost of that from the original supplier.

Many thanks for the feedback. You're all correct. Steam has settled. Interestingly the car is now running slightly noisier than it was but fractionally better fuel economy. Is this the ECU having been reset and it needs to "learn" a driving style?
