OK after 1 whole year of D3 ownership just tonight I have noticed something new
With either the headlights or sidelights on I have a small blueish /white light shining down from the centre of the underside of the front interior light sensor!
Looks quite nice!!!!!
Surely I have not missed it for a year?
Is it coincidence that the car had the enhancement yesterday?
So who is going to be the first bright spark to tell me to look in the manual Zermatt silver 06 reg.

Its to light up the gearstick area at night. Don't think it was on 2004 models. It's brightness is controlled by the dash brightness control. Have you turned it up since last winter?Disco 5 HSE Lux

Always have the dash lights on nearly full so shouldn't be any different there.

It is a cool little light - I confess I didn't notice it for a few months - but it spashes just enough light between the seats to see the gear lever clearly - obviously more useful on a Manual than Auto but still a nice touch.Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

tis on 2004 models... also not very efficient. Makes no real difference. I think its called accent or waterfall lighting and is used to create a higher quality ambience in the vehicle.
A trick manufacturers are using more often - even in poor peoples cars
Will have to ask at the dealers if they did anything else.
Do like the new suspension feel post enhancement.Zermatt silver 06 reg.

Its an LED bulb, and its been there since day 1. It is very subtle, especially when you compare it with our 55 reg Mini which has 2 waterfall lights of about 55 watts each!

LOL, I just noticed mine the other day after 6 months of ownership. I was adjusting the mirror and my hand lit up. Took me a few seconds to figure it out. I was grinning ear to ear when I realized what it is. What a cool little detail, eh
Have you also noticed that all your rubbery dashboard controls glow in the dark? That is so cool!
