Over the last couple of days I have noticed the CD changer changing discs when it is switched off!!! I was playing disc one track one yesterday morning for example, switched it off whilst off roading all day, I have turned it back on this am on the way to work to find its playing disc six track 8!

This is a feature of the headset plugs in the rear. The early cars had a bug, where if the rear jack point had been listening to a cd, then the cd changer would keep playing regardless of whether headphones were in use or not.
You could plug some headphones in, select Radio through the headphones, then remove them. That would stop the CD.
You can go to the dealer and get a software upgrade on the infotainment system that stops the issue occuring.

Thats what the dealer would say if you told him that.
You said you switched it off when you went off road so perhaps the carousel which controls which disc is playing was shocked during the day causing it to start at a different spot?
Interesting if anyone else has ever noticed it doing the same. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

The Blue Pearl used to do the same thing. She would also carry on listening to the CD whilst I was on the phone (Bluetooth) a pain when listening to Wind In The Willows on a CD audio book. I never did find out why they shaved the Badger In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
