Iid on none registered vehicle?
Will the Iid tool read not change the CCF on a vehicle it is not registered to? - I don’t want to make a fool of myself if it won’t It can when others can't,

I don't think so. It will do fault codes and live values but not CCF unless it's registered.MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added

Deffo won’t do CCF edit or ECU reflashing on unregistered vehickle.

I have 2 LRs and I can confirm that CCF could not be read on the 2nd until it was registered but it could read fault codes.Dorian Woolger

- SIL’s D4 keeps blowing halogen headlamp bulbs, even when he bought it one was out within a few days, my guess is it is set to xenons.It can when others can't,

Yes it will do both until it blows a bulb, when set to xenon a high “charge” is sent on start up to ignite the xenon, just like a fluorescent tube has a starter, this charge invariably blows a halogen bulb, although there may be another fault elsewhere.It can when others can't,

Is that high charge not all part of the xenon headlight assy which if changed to a halogen version would not be there?

If you operate xenons with halogen firmware they will work but will flicker on/off on start up, just like a fluorescent tube when the starter has failed.It can when others can't,

Probably thinking of my freelander2 which needing configuring for xenons if fitted with halogen from the factory but once xenon headlights removed and halogen refitted no need to reconfigure.

That correct, but the halogen bulbs will have a premature life due to the high voltage being put into them when they are first switched on. The bulbs will only last 12 months maximum, probably a lot less. This is exactly the situation with SIL’s D4 It can when others can't,
