Is an IID overkill for my needs

We've just purchased a 2015 D4, it needs what I believe the BMS resetting after it had a new main battery before we purchased the car, I would like to change the aux battery as well as I believe it is the original so will need a BMS reset for that from what I've read.
I had an icarsoft i930 for our D3 and that covered everything I needed it for and it got the FBH up and running.
I have been looking at the iid but it worries me that it's over complicated for our needs, but my main worry is that I will end up causing more problems with an over complicated diagnostic tool.
Would an icarsoft LR V2.0 be sufficient?

Another vote for getting the GAP IID. You'll not regret it.

An IID is like a spare key, if ever needed, it will save you a fortune.

Whatever you do donโ€™t buy an Autel AP200. The latest firmware update has removed almost all the useful functions. Buy a Iid off a forum member then resell for the same price when you eventually sell the Disco. ๐Ÿ‘

I agree with you - you do get what you pay for. Autel has always been good value in the past - what changes have you noticed?

I recently bought my AP200 in France and the menus still offer key programming, i wonder if i have older stock or it is a regional thing?

Yes, that is not good. No idea why ours would be different. Get another from ebay.fr? And use the one you have for another car or put it up in ebay?
