we have had a few problems with them but not much more than the average disco.
One had a new engine after 55K and about 6 months. (a new shogun only manged 1800 miles before it needed a new engine)
Bear in mind they are run for on 3, 8 hour shifts a day (on a rota with the occasional day off) we rack up about 400 miles a day in them and they are always left ticking over at an incidents, often for hours at a time
95% motorways miles at around 60mph (no more than 70mph), so we dont use then as a typical disco owner would. They are booted off the hardshoulder. We are in and out of then all day, doors open closed, tailgate open closed seat trim etc seems to withstand 40 different people driving them. So not your typical use but they can handle it (normally) I usually get about 32 to the gallon on a normal shift. The last one i drove with 180,000 miles was getting just under 30 mpg. And get hrough tryes like you would never think... punctures.

I'd say 90% don't, every time I'm on the motorway I see cars braking and crawling past the HA guys at 68 mph

DaveVX, welcome...................I think everybody will be all ears with you as your are the man on the pulse regarding longevity on the D3. Nice to hear that the interior trim stands up to the pounding you boys give it.................look forward to reading more of your posts

Yeah but DiscoStu will agree, if you have a white D3 the cars seem to part, especially for TT WILMA

if you have a 'tooled up' D3, driven in a 'defensive manner' most get out of the way regardless of colour in my experience and theeeeennn......???
