Importing cars into the U.S. |
|
I thought I heard a rumor that there is a loophole or something with importing cars where you can bring in, say, a 1990s defender 90/110/diesel, whatever you want. And title it as an older car and have it be legal to drive in the U.S. Does anyone know how it works?
Because if it does, sign me up for a 110 diesel stickshift.
You guys in Europe have much better car options that we get here.

Start your research here. It won't be fun: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/
If you can find a left-hand drive (mandatory) 1993 Defender 110 in Europe, that model has been federalized... in all cases, you'll need to work with a registered importer.
