There is a plug and leads that connect to the end of that rail 2005 Land Rover D3, 4.4L V8, Maya Gold Metallic

P0183 fuel temp sensor circuit A high input
P0116 engine coolant temp sensor circuit range performance
P0128 coolant temp below thermostat regulating temp.
May give the radiator a flush soon. Going on a trip next week so trying to chase the gremlins out of the machine.
The fuel codes are troubling.
Thanks for the help Pete again 2005 Land Rover D3, 4.4L V8, Maya Gold Metallic

So as discribed I did have to pull an injector to find the bad O-ring. Would there possibly be an issue with air in the rail?
Never heard of air in petrol systems, diesel yes, I have bled a many diesel injectors.
I removed all of the electrical connections and sprayed with contact cleaner. All seemed fine except for one red locking tab on a plug. 2005 Land Rover D3, 4.4L V8, Maya Gold Metallic

Not sure if these use the BMW or Jag engine.
Was there a wire that should be connected to earth/metal that you left off when you removed the rail ? or poor connection?
Why this should start after the rail was off I don't know.

I will look it over.
Don't remember one. It's an AJ I think that meant a jag.
I'll search to find out which engine. Pretty sure jag was it. 2005 Land Rover D3, 4.4L V8, Maya Gold Metallic

OK well I find no unaccounted for wires.
So after replacing the injector, I have noticed that the idle is much higher. like 1100 rpms at idle.
Still have P0186 and P0116 codes after changing out the thermostat. I have yet to narrow down the coolant sensors to check for voltage there, resistance etc.
Today I am finishing up the oil changes in my diffs and Transfer Case. I also took on pulling the four O2 sensors. To address the high idle and some powertrain issues hopefully.
I also am fearing an altenator of battery issue, as I got a low power mode message the other day, when I had the doors open to change interior lights to LED's.
I had my son start the car as I took a reading at the battery with my Digital Meter and saw a quick flash of 11 something volts when the starter was hitting. This did not linger and as I say it was a less than a second flash.
I wonder if this could be an issue with getting some codes? As in when the system tests are running on start up if this voltage drop is hitting and causing a fault? As there are no electircal faults I would say no, but once I have the O2's back in and drop off from the ramps I will be checking into the altenator, coolant sensors, fuel temp sensor , etc. to try to clear the codes.

Well I decided to try after the front injectors, however they look to be brand new from looking at them from under the truck. Right now have removed and cleaned the rear O2's which didn't look bad to beging with.
Guess I will test the pulled rears and leave the front (Upstreams) alone for now until I get some indication that there is an issue.
Still trying to figure out the high idle.
Broken rear half shaft boot strap. Pushed the boot back and stuck fingers in to make sure that I could feel the bearings. Couldn't see inside the assembly but since nothing seems amiss I will strap the boot back on after doing my best to pack some grease into the bearing itself by pulling back the rubber and using one of the wife's scoopy kitchen things to deliver the grease. Good thing she is in West Va visiting family, LMAO. It was the perfect tool though for doing blind, upside down, backhand, bearing packing.
Well time to punch the clock and get to it.
Thanks for the info Pete, I was very worried over that voltage drop. 2005 Land Rover D3, 4.4L V8, Maya Gold Metallic
