Insurance with offroad cover

My insurance is up for renewal shortly, so I have been shopping around. I can find only three sources for insurance that includes off-road use - LR Insurance, NFU and Adrian Flux.
The prices vary greatly. Are there any others I should try?

The prices below are for myself/spouse with business use, 20k miles:

LR Insurance £654
NFU - £582
Adrian Flux - £492

All include new (based on £43,500) for old for first year. NFU includes this for two years.
Interestingly, Adrian Flux is based on a Highway policy but does include off-road use. I've had prices from online screen scrapers (Confused.com and Masterquote.co.uk) for Highway policies at £400, but without off-road cover.

The whole off-road cover thing is a bit misleading sometimes, check the cover carefully as it may just extend to green lanes wheich you should be covered for anyway as they're public roads

If there's any insurers out there reading this, if you come up with a decent off-road policy at a reasonable price you're sure to get a few new customers Wink

I have a feeling from what the Adrian Flux rep said that theirs could well be just green laning cover.
I think NFU are best in this respect.

I have NFU, and I was told that it covers off road use, except rallying or time trial use.

It's pretty much the same as the others, with except from the NFU that give you full invoice value for two years.
The only difference is the repair centre. Many of the others may not use the LR dealer. However, they will be using genuine parts, cos you can only get these.

it's worth remembering that you should be able to insist that your insurance repairs are done at a centre of your choice, even if the ins company aren't too keen because they normally have their own list of agents,

I have LR insurance and their claims department are useless. It took 8 months to get payment from a 3rd party which admitted liability - they even upped my premium because they hadn't reclaimed the money even though the othe insurance company admitted full liability. LR insurance call centres are diverted to India (I Think) and I hate speaking on phones with time lag and bad reception.

That's the politically correct way of say it is it?

I'm with NFU, had a bump (my fault) and they were superb. All handled by local office.

Only problem with NFU is they won't cover modified vehicles, which is an issue for some of us Whistle

What counts as modified? If its all standard LR bits does it matter? (and I know that doesn't apply to you Si)
