Hi
Does anyone know if the interior lights can all be set to automatic, as on my D4 the rear passenger one is bugging me.
If I turn on the middle one above the rear seats and then press the front one's centre button, a message comes up saying interior lights auto. When I get out and lock the car all the lights fade out, When I unlock the car they all come on, the problem is when I start up only the front and the boot light fade out and the rear passenger one stays on, the only way to get it to go off is to press the centre button, which turns it off altogether and then it doesn't come on at all when opening any doors.
I have read the manual, but wonder if I am doing something wrong, as on my D3, when in auto all three lights worked with the doors locking/unlocking and faded out when I started up.
Forgot to mention, I had the battery disconnected, would this have anything to do with it ?
Anyone have any thoughts.

Press and hold I think.
It's in the Operator's Manual  Stew,
2010 D4 gone but I really loved it
Went back to Merc - C350 AMG

Yep, press & hold til they flash once. Repeat to turn off.

I have tried pressing and holding the centre button on both the front and middle light. The front flashes three times and a message comes up, interior lights auto and if i press and hold again i get interior lights off, but the middle light just seems to be either on or off.

Ah, just clocked D4. These facelifted D3s are well outside my experiences.

Called in the dealers today as could not get it to work as it should. They said the light unit has a fault and have ordered a new one, happy I am not paying for it as the lamp unit is £171.40 +vat.
