intermediate front driveshaft bearing |
|
Hi all,
My Disco makes a rotational scraping noise from about 35 mph that is speed, not load or braking related. I don't think it's wheel bearing noise (they've been replaced recently anyway) and it sounds like this thread.
My mechanic did the listen to the end of a screwdriver trick while I drove the Disco on a ramp, and thought it sounded more like the front intermediate driveshaft bearing though. I've done a search and most bearing related threads are wheel or propshaft with a few diff ones.
Could it be the intermediate bearing? Does anyone have experience of this? Is the intermediate bearing part available? Or is it more likely a driveshaft as in the thread above? I think the LR parts department want to sell a replacement diff
Thanks in advance. Andrew

I am afraid that sounds just like the problem I have just fixed, by changing the front diff. Simon.
