On another thread, it was suggested I do the IPC update after i posted pics showing I have the grey bits around the gauges.
As I quite like the grey bits but haven't seen an updated one to compare it to, I have 2 questions:
1. if I don't like the update, can I reverse the change?
2. does the update offer me other stuff that makes it worth losing the grey bits ?.

I don't have a D4 with the fancy screen, but for what it's worth, I think it looks better without the shading.

I have the grey shading too. I didn't realise I could get rid of it and I think it looks cleaner without.
Can the update be done without a secondary power source? I have the CTEK MXS 5.0 but I think this is only for charging and not for supply.
I did it without a power source and with a brand new battery, took 2-3 minutes. (Yes I realize this is not how one is supposed to do it but sometimes ....)
so ... on the basis no-one has said otherwise, the only change this does is removing the grey areas ?

Thanks kajtzu. I think I'll charge the battery overnight then give it a whirl.
Do you know what other changes it introduces? I notice that sometimes when setting cruise, the cruise set speed doesn't appear. Do you know if it resolves this also?Kev
