iPhone Connection in D4 HSE 2012 MY

Hi All,
I am new to this group although I was active on D3 forum as 'D3MAD' for some time when I had 2 x D3's. After expensive issues I went back to a couple of good solid D2's (of which I have had many), and still have have two. (perfect for our narrow N W Somerset narrow lanes).

I have just purchased a Discovery 4 HSE 2012 (MY) and looking forward to delivery this next few days.

Question is;
what do I need to use an iPhone for music in the D4?. I have various iPhones from iPhone 3 up to 11 Max pro.

Will it work via USB or only the iPod connection? Appreciate advice.
