If yours is gulf spec there should be 2 12v outlets there - the smokers pack and the regular one. Should allow you to keep both phone and ipod in at once (unless you also smoke)

Yes Gulf spec same as yours and indeed 2 x 12 v outlets. Checked in Virgin & Compu-Me last night, no luck. Virgin has something similar but it was an FM signal type which I didn't want. I tried to order the Belkin cable kit from EBay both USA & UK sites, neither will ship items to UAE. Maybe the cable assy can be used as some sort of arming device for a nuclear weapon...???

With reference to the original Land Rover kit sold by the dealer, may this kit only be fitted by a Land Rover dealer or also by any indepedent ICE specialist shop?

You can fit the LR kit yourself. IIRC about £135 from The Large one posted, then it's really just a case of removing some trim (easy once you've done it) and unplugging a few cables & re-plugging in. No cut cables & all very simple to do Bodsys Brake Bible

I've got one of the Griffin devices and it works well; with two twelve volt sockets (plus one in the back by the aux in socket), you don't need to unplug it often so 'floppiness' is not a problem so far (5 months or so)
I'll second the comments about iTunes on Windows - it's b*****y horrible. An elderly version of Music Match Juke Box is its superior in every way - except actually managing the iPod, to the point where I tend to use iTunes ONLY for podcasts and syncing up the iPod itself...

Hi there,
Are there any pics for the installation of the LR kit?
Thanks The O.C.

(you need a double ended 3.5 stero jack as well)
Or one of these, with some basic controls and charging progress on the front. It's not clear from the pics, but like the Belkin, I think it has the 3.5mm audio out jack on the charger barrel too, allowing for a short connection to the Aux in socket. I'll find out as I've just ordered one. Andrew

Just purchased one of these http://www.monstercable.com/productdisplay.asp?pin=4341, seems to work OK and has the advantage of being able to switch between playlists as well as tracks. Interestingly when I select another source on the ICE the ipod pauses and when re-selecting AUX again it starts from where it paused, although you do have to press the PLAY button again.
My biggest bug now is re the audio level. The audio is a little bit lower in level than other sources, Radio/ CD etc. Easy enough to crank up the vol. a couple of dabs but then the voice in the sat nav is a bit too high. Do I have to reimport my music onto my ipod at a higher level. Sorry, this seems more like the question to be asked on a ipod forum than the LR3 but as we're here. Any suggestions?
Cheers,

Correction to my earlier message, this device does not pause the ipod when other source selected. Difficult to see how it could have really, must have been pure chance that it started back on the same track when I tried it.
Cheers,
