Ipod Touch

Anybody know if the ipod touch is compatible with the current LR ipod link kit. The dock connector is the same as the ipod classic, guess it may just be issues with cradle size.

Also, does anyone know if the LR kit has just a cable connector too - ie not using the cradle so it could be hidden in a cubby/glovebox.

Thanks

John

The iphone works in the kit ..so i cant see why the touch won't...but the mounting bracket does not accomodate the iphone that well ..you can remove the clip at the top and it fits pretty well then

The kit also comes with a usb input and a couple of RCA connectors which is normaly fitted in the glove box

Heres a pic of the holder fitted under the center cubby box (or fridge if you have one)

I fitted this for another forum member ...the iphone worked great in there ..all functions worked .

All thats needed is for LR to make an adapter for the iphone /itouch.

There's a thred on it somewere ..i will have a look

EDIT ...here it is http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic16988.html?highlight=iphone

Heres a pic of the usb and rca inputs (pic from JKP gallery Thumbs Up ) although there not fitted in the glove box

From what i have read ...there is limited use of the steering wheel controls when you use the usb or rca connectors ..but i may be wrong

When mine was actually working (currenty busted) the steering wheel controls advanced the tracks on the USB stick OK.....the tracks on the USB have to be in the root directory (wont work from a folder) & they play in the order you put them onto the disc (no shuffling function)

I dont know about connecting with RCA jacks.......question what can you actually coonect with an RCA jack you would have in a car ??

If you connect something in the 2 RCA leads ..then plug something in the rear aux socket (back of the cubby box) then the switch is for selecting either source.

Full circle = something plugged-in
Empty circle = not something plugged-in

It's not related to front or rear as you could have something plugged-in in the front

Wiggs, by "all functions worked" I presume you mean only the MP3 player realed functions, not the phone - reason I ask is that I only have a basic without LR phone/BT connectors so use a Nokia Car Kit.

EDITED:

Never mind, just found this thread and it gives me the answer: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic16988.html
LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.
