Battery type was changed from 'sealed' to 'low maintenance' during 06MY - still a lead calcium battery, just one with cell access caps

Just bought a replacement for my battery which is almost 4 years old and which has been displaying the effects of old age during the cold snap.
I went to an online battery specialist firm called Tayna from whom I've previously bought batteries for my D1 and other vehicles. The D3 isn't listed in their vehicle drop down lists so I had to ring them to get the right information.
Here is the D3 replacement battery on the Tayna site click here
At £99 it's about the same price as one from Halfords but it comes with a 5 year rather than a 3 year guarantee. The firm also gave me half price delivery making the total £104 delivered including VAT. I ordered it late afternoon on Monday of this week and it was delivered to my office in London the following morning.

The same site has the Varta AGM battery here (similar technology to the Optima) that is exact fit ( DIN H8 ) as well.
Not sure why it's only a 3 yr warranty though and double the price. Since we can't get Varta here in the States, I went with another H8 AGM main battery that has a 70-month warranty.
Bit of a cold snap right now (-25°C) and no trouble starting.
