as the Sat Nav system is "Garmin" are you able to load 4WD maps (via OziExplorer for example) or are you restricted to just the usual main roads, city & suburban streets.

Thanks Grahame

Grahame,
The Kenwood Garmin Sat Nav will run the Garmin City Navigator for the the cities and main roads although it cover a considerable number of rural roads and tracks as well but it will also run OZTopo which provides contour details down to 10m intervals and road and track data. The Kenwood Garmin Unit comes with the plug and play version of the street maps and if you can not get the 25 character unlock code for this file you need to get a City Navigator NT version and the OZTopo maps to be able to load them on to a single SD card. Alternatively you have to change over the SD Cards each time you want to use the Oztopo or City Navigator Maps. The system can not run Oziexplorer
