Issue with the auto gearbox

I'm having an issue with the auto gearbox, some changes up/down are not that smooth. When changing gears (automatically and manually), just before the gear changes the engine revs gets up (in exaggerated way) and only than the gear changes. (it happens mostly between 3rd and 4th gear). Car has done 150k in 5 years. I did a gearbox flush but the problem still occurres. On few occasions I have had a fault come up on the info panel that says "Transmission fault - limited gears available".
Thanks for any help in advance.

Gearbox problem

The dealer diagnosed it and said that the gearbox need to replace.
The problem happens between 3rd and 4th gear just before the gear changes. the engine revs gets up and only than the gear changes.
I did at other car mechanic the gearbox flush without changing the pan filter. (Do I need to change it??).The car mechanic that did it say that some time its take a while (because the new oil in the gearbox) before the gearbox work out.
Any ideas? Thanks

My gearbox was a bit rough and I had a few of those errors in a couple of weeks. Although 2 were just a rough change and the third time was when cruising and the gearbox was hunting between 2 gears. TFC had a look and did a gear box flush. The only error he found was an EGR one so that got changed and it's been fine since. Sounds like your problem could be more serious though, but if you don't trust the dealer then it'd be worth getting TFC to take a look. Motorway , doing 50 Mph, no power to increase speed, no kick down... ANy advice? I will go the the dealer of course but I hope someone can give me some first advice?

Apologies for asking, what is an EGR? What is the typical life of the transmission on an LR3? I would really hate to find out after the expiration of the warranty, God forbid 8)

Weel, I had a the car on the computer read out and it seems to be a lack of power/electricty on the gearbox. This means there is not enough power at some points to change gears. Anyone aware of this / cost indication of the repares to be done?
thanks!
