Its happened!

Well, i never thought i would see the day..... swmbo has convinced me to get a caravan. Hence our non-aerodynamic brick will now have an even larger non-aerodynamic brick to haul around the countryside! The larger brick is in fact a 2006 Elddis crusader superstorm, purchased today. twin axle and plenty room for all the family. Ho ho, i always used to laugh at tin tents and joke how they were always called swift, sport or crusader! Now i'm afraid it might be me at the head of a long queue of cars? At least i'll have my extended mirrors to monitor the situation.
So, any advice for a caravan newbie? ( best thing i have so far discovered it that it has a drinks cabinet/mini bar)
Cheers, and happy caravanning to all!

My advice would be, just take it easy, with the Disco pulling it, it is very easy to forget you have a caravan attached. Get use to the extra width of the caravan and if money will allow get a mover fitted as it makes reversing it a doddle.

Make sure you get your moneys worth, use it whenever you can, don't just use it 2 or 3 times a year. Buy an awning it will give you so much room for you and the kids, plus on wet days somewhere to store all your wet clothes and dirty shoes.

Getting a tin tent was one of our better decisions, more family time and helped me relax.

Only real problem you will have now is do you spend your extra cash on new bits for the caravan or your Disco Laughing

The cassette thingy? do you mean the waste container or bog Laughing
The majority of water supply carriers are barrel shaped so that they can be rolled when full.
When pitches are available I go for fully serviced - the water and waste are permanently connected so no fetching and carrying (except toilet) which is ideal with 2 teenage daughters and SWMBO Thumbs Up

No. Strategically placed Whistle

Wifey has been told she will need an op in the very near future, so will loose her income for a few months just shortly. A bit of free advertising never hurts Thumbs Up

Gearbox has been limped so far, and will continue to do so, until I can afford a new box. Hopefully it will hold out. Just raiding the shed for bits and pieces to raise funds.

May even have to get rid of the Freelander that was bought to replace her company car
