It's the small things that please...

Since having my D3 I've been impressed by some of the minor items that LR felt fit to include, small but useful things such as the clips on either side of the windscreen for holding parking vouchers and the like.
There are also clever/thoughtful little touches such as not allowing the stereo to be turned up loud unless the engines on and turning the interior lights off if a door or the tailgate is left open for a while to conserve the battery

Yesterday I noticed for the first time (don't know why I didn't before) the hooks on the inside of the fuel door for retaining the filler cap whilst you're refuelling, no need to leave it hanging Very Happy

What little touches have the rest of you noticed at made you Smile ?

I like the tiny LED floodlight in the roof console. I also like the wipers that park themselves even if you switch off half way through a cycle.

Or the hooks in the boot to hang your grocery totes so they don't slide around. Very Happy

Hoovering mine out yesterday I found a lever under the seat that flips the seat forward rather than pulling the loop on the back of the 2nd row seats. I don't know why I've not seen it before but there you go Embarassed

Ah, well, you see if Jeremy Clarkson had read the manual and found out about that little lever, he would not have had so much of a struggle to get little Harry into the back seats! and he would probably then agree that the D3 is MUCH better than a Volvo

I haven't noticed the LED in the console, nor the hooks in the boot! I'll have to look for those hooks... One of the things I miss most about my old D2 was the "curry hook" to hang your takeout dinner on...

When ever my car gets to play air sprung skip and take rubbish to the dump or play 'I am a big Ikea delivery van'...

I love how LR have given us a nice slot to hang our boot space cover on !

I really miss :

the cargo nets in the roof and
the map pockets above the sun visors that featured in the Disco 2.

I really appreciate :

the small lidded cubby boxes on either side in the rear (great for stowing tow rope, gloves, torch etc)

the ability to sit on the tail gate while lacing up your boots

finding new features that I never knew were ther - like the 2nd row seat drinks holder right at the bottom of the centre box - I bet many D3 owners still haven't found that as it is virtually invisible to the naked eye !
and like the ability of the 2nd row seats to step forward/down and flatten the rear load space

I think there are also some coat hooks (plane style) on the outside back of the second row of seats when in the upright position. I guess this is for when the 3rd row becomes the only back row for people with v long legs, or "exec" mode when the centre seat has all the comms kit on it ..
..............Somewhere in-between my old D3 and what's to come next .........

lee, found the knobs, wierd. Have my doubts as to them being coat hooks, but what on earth could they be otherwise. I don't think they are coat hooks due to the dirt and grease that may collect around the case of the seat, anyone any ideas ?

OK, if it's Question Time, can anyone explain why there's Velcro on the top of the front seat seatbelt cinches?

The velcro pads are, I understand, to protect the harder plastic of the seatbelt receivers marking the cubby box sides.

Less sure about the tabs on the underside of the rear seats, but suspect they are there to act as hooks for the leading edge of the cargo net, when used with the 2nd row seats folded down.

I like the fact the rear wash wipe speed varies depending on the speed of your front wipers.

Drive 80mph and turn the radio off.

And just listen.

A wisper of wind noise here. And a whisper of wind noise there.

Have you noticed the three door seals???
