just swapped in my current toy (mini cooper S) for a G4 with all the toys!! that makes it 2 D3's on the drive . I only went to have a look..... It had only been bought at the closed auction the day before and the salesman was only slightly miffed that they didnt get to have it on display longer but he wasn't going to turn down the sale!!. Not only does it have all the visible toys, it also comes with wiring for UHF/VHF radios into the top glove box and 2 new wheels with MTR's in the boot, 2 jerry cans, 2 water cans, shovel, first aid kit and kayak holder ( ! now i have to buy a kayak!)
The dealer is swapping the Italian flags for G4's on the doors and putting the Union flag on the rear quarter panel. (oh and removing the climatecare ones! )
I guess its not a ''true'' G4 as it hasnt been used in anger but hey its only done 1000 miles!! I'm not complaining!!!!
oooooh i cant wait!!!

Thaks guys, i cant wait to get it muddy and ooooh do tell on who did the wiring!!
I was slightly surprised that these didnt have a dual battery set up fitted and this made me take about an extra 3 millseconds to make the decison. so to answer your question Mr Macelod..... i might be!
I did a bit of trawling on the LR website - about 20 odd G4's out there but the spec does seem to vary quite alot; electric winches and hydraulic winches, a few with rear facing spots and fuel tank guards and the dealers don't do themselves any favours by mixing up the details under the standard spec and extras headings.
I was impressed by how neat the light wiring is and how the sun roof clears the modules under the roof rack by about 3mm - very neat!
5 days to go..oooooooooh

Its gonna be a loong 5 days for you But look what you get Saturday 14th
Someone recently posted on here something along the lines of "...what's all the fuss of a G4...it's a D3 with accessories and orange paint..."
I reflected on that. Then I saw these pictures...And I'd like to have one (as SWMBO looks over my shoulder as I type and I wait for the WTF are you saying...)
Just a bit jealous DaveM.. The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeksnearly 4 weeksover 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."
It is exactly that, and i did oscillate between, 'why dont i just hang all those goodies on my 07 HSE' and this but it is virtually a brand new HSE (ok probably sat in a field for 9 months..hence a full service before i pick it up) with all the goodies I could possible want and more (I now have 3 spare wheels with MTR's and one on the Blue HSE with pirelli scorpion )at a very good price, and a unique colour.
it is fair to say i dont need a G4 but I most certainly want it!!
and i promise to get it muddy on a regular basis your honour.

Trust me. You will love it once you have it. The roof lights are very good . On mine I had to fit the fuse in the holder and then it worked, The dealer won't do it due to legal reasons.
