Jacking under wishbones

Is it safe to jack the D3 under the wishbones? Seems a lot less effort than jacking the chassis rails as you can get closer to the lift point but don't want to Censored the suspension.

I've done it a number of times with no ill effect, some are indifferent to the practice and yet others scream and wave the elven safe tree manual.

For wheel changing on a sound, level surface with the other wheels adequately chocked it's quicker and safer than an air jack or the lego/marzipan jack that comes with the car. Just make sure the head of the jack is large enough to spread the load over the arm.

That's what I did when I changed my wheels. Lifted 1 at a time & seemed to be OK. Was done that way in Croisiere on DiscoDuncs too Thumbs Up

I've done it, I also found it better to lower the suspension to make the wishbones more horizontal.

However I have since bought a large 3 ton trolley jack and turned a round thingy to fit in the hole in the chassis rail which on the drive at least is a whole lot simpler.
