Buying mine used with 13K miles everything looks mirror perfect except for the hood. In certain light there are minor scratches and water spots on the hood. Think the previous owner used automated car washes or something.
I went out and got a bunch of Meguires & Mothers stuff - clay, detailer, paint cleaner, polish, wax. Worked on it an entire day buffing & cleaning away, but the water spots and scratches are still there!
Others probably don't notice it, but it bugs me to death. Any suggestions?

Take it to the swamps, get it really dirty and then leave it that way.
Looks much better when it isn't clean.

I agree, you get two D3's in one!!
When it's Clean [esp Java]..........it looks like a Limo!
But when it's Dirty.........it's very, very Diiirrrty I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

If the claybar, nor polish got out the marks, them 'waterspots' are probably bird dropping acid marks??
If you enjoy keeping your car mint, esp Java then can I suggest Zaino Polish. www.zainobros.com It works a treat on scratches and swirls in the lacquer, with their Z5 application.
Its a molecular polish which bonds to the paint surface and each subsequent layer of polish applied to build up a protective layer.
But is twice the price of USA. If you can get it sent o a US address this is the only way.

Agree, Zaino is fantastic especially on darker colours and it will remove swirl marks if you follow the instructions.
BTW I did find a USA supplier who will ship to the UK Zermatt silver 06 reg.
Gone but not forgotten !!!

Ya but I want my Disco to be a lady on the streets and a muddy freak in the sheets so to speak.
I don't think they're bird droppings unless it got bomb by the flock, but hadn't thought of that - maybe acid rain from hurricanes?
Even the Queen drives round Balmoral in a mucky Landy
Think, Christina rather than Brintey....... One hides something a bit classiser than the look, the other is trailer trash with make-up.
Go on..... get it dirty........... you know you want to
OK Ya!

Ha Ha good analogy! Ya I've been talked in to getting her muddy. Going for a romp in the swamp with a group of Discos on the 30th It will be the only D3 in the muck. The rest are modded out D1s, D2s, RRs and such. I'll get lots of pics...I just pray I do the D3's (and girl pilots ) up proud since many are curious to see what it can do!
If it's anything like the one on MTV with the girls washing the yellow Hummer then I suppose we will allow it........ so long as there's pictures of that too

if it's any consilation, my Adriatic Blue also shows loads of scratches. You know how it is - Single lane, oncomming tractor (with fork) and D3 meets ditch/hedge in a neighbourly display of understanding and ability.
I use Autoglym polish and that seems to cover it.
But to be honest, with the weather as it is, i have given up washing the car and expect to resume in april 07. So no scratches currently visable on paintowrk. Paintwork not visable for mud.
Mud scratches badly though, will need to look in to that!
