Blimey, we agree on something. Thumbs Up Laughing

Assange will face the same judicial system anyone else would face. If break the law then there are consequences. Personally I hope he is tried in Sweden for rape. If convicted, his time in prison in Sweden will be tougher, but if extradited and convicted in the US then that will give him a whole different world of pain as a convicted rapist.

If he ends up in the US, this administration will probably try him as a terrorist, that's assuming he ever gets to a court.

It's amazing that even Jeremy Corbyn and a few of his inner circle of crazies could have misread the public mood this badly. Corbyn is often a bit reminiscent of Neil in The Young Ones Rolling Eyes

Re the policing costs, we shouldn’t have bothered planting any plod in front of the embassy. I’m sure our ex-colonial cousins would have quite happily parked a van with smoked out windows very close by & done the job for us, at their expense. Plus the local council could have put a parking meter there and it would have been well fed. Win-win. Thumbs Up

Funnily enough on HIGNFY last night they made the point that Trump should be grateful to him as he was a massive beneficiary of his leaks. Shocked

Quite.

IMO assisting in breaking into a server or whatever he is going to be charged with in the US, falls a country mile behind establishing if he assaulted women or not Evil or Very Mad

I thought Corbyn said that the Swedish case should be prioritized. Did I miss something?

I thought it was relatively simple: in the event of two (or more) extradition requests, the one with the longest potential sentence wins?

Personally I think it should be the type and severity of the crime. Whilst I would love to see Assange as a guest of the US penal system, for me any sexual assault / rape prosecution should take priority over illegal computer access.

The US can extradite from Sweden just as easily as the UK so either way he’ll end up 8n the US.
