Hi all,
Just got back from Greece having safely delivered my Dad's pet Labrador.
Had a last minute work-related hitch to contend with which meant that SWMBO couldn't make it so I was accompanied by my mate Steve instead!
We drove to the Peleponese resort of Tolo, near Napfplion, via Zeebrugge in Belgium, France, Luxembourg, France again, Switzerland and Italy. (That was day 1) Overnight in Milan then onto Ancona, overnight ferry to Patras in Greece and onto my Dad's place.
Stayed there 2 days and returned to Italy via the ferry to Bari. Spent some excellent days and nights driving home via the Umbrian Forest, Lake Garda, Brenner Pass, and Innsbruck. Stayed with some friends at Heidelberg in Germany (Picked up an electric piano to bring back to the UK). And back again via the Zeebrugge - Hull ferry.
All-in-all an excellent trip and great fun. The D3 performed admirably and never missed a beat. It was a load-lugger, (1/2 ton of wine from Lake Garda and an electric piano plus all our camping gear), a high-speed cruiser, (on the 112mph limit on the autobahn, steady as a rock), and an off-roader (Greek roads!).
Had 10 days and 3000 miles of great driving and great fun. What a car!
Didn't take as many piccies as I would have liked but here are a few.....
In Italy overlooking the Adriatic.
Entrance to the Corinth Canal
Driving over the Corinth Canal!
Temperature at the Brenner Pass!
Winding roads in the Umbrian forest.
Nice roadside Taverna in Greece.
Back in the game!

Thanks for the positive comments guys, yes I did have a great time thanks.
I have a habit of wanting to drive over large bridges!
So when I saw this one near Patras in Greece I just had to make a completely un-neccessary journey to the other side and back! 12.40 Euros each way making it mile-per-mile the most expensive journey I have ever made!
Has anyone noticed that my roof-tent is not attached?
My mate Steve refused to be in such close proximity to me for some reason!
Back in the game!

the Rio -Antirio bridge is really an expensive crossing....you should have
continued up to Igoumenitsa and get the boat to Italy from there...
