Thanks - yes, I've had the low fob battery message in the past & changed it instantly. I think is the fob where the battery hasn't been changed for sometime to be honest. It still managed to sense me to unlock the car though, so it couldn't have been that low - Duracell battery too.

Ok, thanks i'll check. Doors always open fine, so it's getting a feed. Just press the start button and no lights..do you think that is still battery earth?

I have had this happen and it is when its cold outside ( the Car stays out at night) and I have put it down to a low battery.
I have been testing the theory by charging the battery and its not done it again since.

Having said that I hope it can't hear me Smile

try a jump lead between engine and a suitable earth point on the bodywork to check for defective earth if it happens
 Must stop buying shiny toys....
