Kenwood navi and kos-v1000 fitted - A few problems |
|
Hi,
I've finally fitted my kenwood stuff, a kos-v1000, kos-l702, kna-g510 and kca-bt200. Seems to work well. Problem is that I used the aux feed so to use the navi I have to switch to AUX and the same for my phone integration. When a call comes in I have to hit the AUX button first before picking up on the screen. My bluetooth integration doesn't show the contacts though when I pair the phone with the bt I have to grant permission for it to access the contacts. I don't know if it's the switch settings that I selected for the control unit. Finally does anyone know how to hack the kna-g510 to change the voice guidance language from US english to UK english? I flashed the unit with the kna-g520 upgrade file but the voice is still American.
Will post pics soon. 08 4.0 V6 Petrol HSE, Atacama Sand, Bright Pack, Kenwood kos-v1000 media hub, kos-702 touch screen, kna-g510 nav hideaway, kca-200 BT, Bi-Xenon Headlamps.

You don't need to hack a 510 to change voice/nationalities. All you do is go into the menu and select the language/nationalities off that. By default, the 510 doesn't have a full compliment of countries, so you download what you like or whats appropriate and update the unit to suppliment this. Try British - Emily as your default!

Thanks but I went that route never found British hence the attempt to hack. You say to download the languages and update the unit. Where on myGarmin do you find that? 08 4.0 V6 Petrol HSE, Atacama Sand, Bright Pack, Kenwood kos-v1000 media hub, kos-702 touch screen, kna-g510 nav hideaway, kca-200 BT, Bi-Xenon Headlamps.

With respect to the AUX selection, mine is a V500 and wired in as follows:
- Output from the amp under the drivers seat for the front speakers into the speaker level input on the V500
- output from the V500 back into the front and rear speakers
This will automatically mute the music regardless of source on the receipt of a phone call or navigation command.
It doesn't however take care of the sub-woofer...

Thanks Powella. I don't think there's much difference b/n the v500 and v1000 except for the capicity of expansion. I've printed out the audio system wiring diagram from GTR and will match it with the v1000 wiring diagram. In the audio system wiring there are junctions (SJ204, SJ205, SJ217, SJ218). I'll look for these and pick the amp output from these into the v1000 and then wire back the v1000 output to the speaker input at these junctions.
