Key Fob fails to open tailgate |
|
My keyfob is currently configured for a single unlock press to open the drivers door, a double press to unlock all doors and the LR button to open the tailgate.
Pressing the LR button operates the solenoid and releases the tailgate by a single notch - so it's now loose but it won't open. Pressing the latch button on the tailgate operates the solenoid again, but still no release. If I hold the tailgate against the latch and press the LR button again, it releases.
If I double press the unlock button, the tailgate opens every time from the latch.
The tailgate needs considerable persuasion to latch again so am I right in thinking that there is some adjustment needed somewhere?

Interesting to know the answer. My cousin was complaining his does the same. Dealer said that is what they do. What use is that? “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Mine seems to have an "incline sensor" - it needs a double operation to open the tailgate when the car is nose-downhill (when nothing will fall out) and only one operation when nose-uphill (when stuff will fall out).
Can't figure whether this is intentional and cross-wired, or accidental / not really slope-related...
A 2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods
