Lack of power ... then Woosh!!!
Don't know if it's just me!
But after a long tow with tintent to Devon [and back].
I noticed that when [free of tintent] accelerating, foot half way down ..... there was no pick up.
Press throttle a little more .. then woosh power kicks in and blue smoke out the back [been JE tuned].
Also noticed turbo kicking in more on the hills with tintent [but maybe that was just Devon].
Now home, all seems ok apart from the odd moment.
Could this just be me imagining it?
Could the gearbox have addapted to a more serene use of the throttle [with tintent on back]?
Is something about to go?
Any views?I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Had a similar thing (though perhaps not as severe) after towing a heavy rib around North Wales. Settled down after a week. Sounds like the adaptive box.

Thanks Christian ..... so what's the damage re fixing/renewing?
[no LR warranty]I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.
IF it's the EGR valves, I have no idea as mine were done under warranty both times. Not had too much experience of the Auto yet, get mine in 19 Days
Hope it's the Auto box. My manual seemed to be low on power until about 2500/3000 RPM and them THUMP, loads of power. Followed a particularly leasurely jaunt back from Perth to the midlands, LRA bloke said I needed to thrash it more !! So maybe a low rev trip with tintent on the back has deposited the same amount of on the valves - I'm not TDV6 expert though."To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

I reckon its your adaptive transmission learning bad habits.
We were discussing this last night at the Northwest pub meet, and bobbycrispbox and I have both had the same symptom - i.e you meet a slight incline, and gently apply more accelerator, but the engine seems to bog down with no power, its actually in too high a gear, and needs to change down, but the engine is labouring at about 1500 - 1750 rpm. As you apply more and more throttle, it will suddenly kick down a cog and whoosh your off at a rate of knots
Mine was doing this, then I had the adaptive memory cleared at the last service. It was great, but after 3000 miles its now doing it again.
We came to the conclusion that we are probably driving the cars too gently, and they need a good thrashing in command shift to teach it a lesson

Try your other key, to see if it behaves the same (assuming you didn't use the other key when towing), because the adaptive box is mapped to the key (isn't it?).2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

I don't think it is mapped to the key Andrew. AFAIK the key only memorises the seat and mirror position.

Mine does exactly the same. It seemed to improve after the last service a month ago but has now returned to 'normal' like yours Gareth. It is mainly noticeable, as you say, when you start an incline.
It doesn't make for smooth progress and usually results in a from SWMBO for waking the baby up.
I did however manage to use it as an excuse to get a remap which should be applied very very shortly (hopefully tomorrow!!! )2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Are you sure? I don't think it works like that.....
If you're in command-shift then you're not allowing the auto-box to choose the shift points based upon throttle, engine load and rpm/speed parameters. It therefore can't judge the results of those shift-points to determine if it got the required outcome or not.
I reckon you should probably leave it in D (or Sport) and just give it a bit more welly until it learns who the 'daddy' is 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG
