I was unfortunately in an accident this weekend--rear ended while at a dead stop. The LR3/D3 did remarkably well in the accident... Instead of retyping my experiences, I direct you all to read the topic I posted on my "home" Rover board...

Well maybe the double chassis works. I understand that the spare wheel is part of the crash system as well.

Hard luck mate, this is one of the reasons I drive a very large vehicle. Its self defence really. There are too many muppets out on the road these days.
I hope it comes back as good as new.

I can't give a true update because there's a contest on the other site as to guessing the cost of repairs 
I will say that I have it booked to go in for repair on the 15th of August, and I was assured that MOST of the parts should be in by then 
Also: I am suffering from a back injury as a result of the accident, and my dog doesn't like to ride in the Disco anymore (which is a real shame). '05 LR3 HSE

Nah, obviously just a different shape to those they designed the lower spec seats for. The more you pay for your D3 , the more shapes they cater for
Spent several hours driving an HSE at Eastnor today, as we were swapping drivers fairly often (and were all very different shapes!) I didn't bother spending much time getting the seat set-up right each time, just went for 'feels about right'. Despite bouncing around in it through ruts, being pushed back into in on steep ascents and hanging out of it against the seat belt on equally steep decents not a twinge of discomfort. The End

One big reason I bought my HSE was the seats. I just couldn't get comfortable in the lower spec seats... '05 LR3 HSE

The lower spec seats that are really for the working vehicle end are absolutely rubbish. Mine have definately caused back ache and that is rediculous for a vehicle that in general is not too bad otherwise.

Dom, if enough issues are listed, I think once mine have been made and approved, they will be. I spoke to a friend today who uses his D3 for long haul towing and he now has back problems after only about 6000 miles in 2 months. He is listing an issue today with his dealer. The more the merrier basically.

That is just insane. These vehicles are not cheap. Shouldn't we expect good seats???
Our old Freelander HSE and Disco S (poverty spec with vinyl seats) had excellent seats. Why should all Disco 3/LR3's?
On a side note--have you fellas sat in a Range Sport? Those seats are FANTASTIC!!! '05 LR3 HSE
