So not much to do at the moment but clean it! Used the autoglym 3 state snow foam and hydrophobic sealer so should only need a quick wash for next few months!

Looks magnificent. Lovely to see the original lights, which (imo) really suit the D3. 👍

cheers Smile - yes, I agree, I made the mistake with my old P38 - first thing I did was go and put post 2000 red/white rear lens on it, clear indicators e.t.c. and it just felt wrong.. as then it had the wrong headlamps, wrong engine....

I do like the facelift D3 but unless I also change the arches, grill, bumpers and go for a completely modded look, keeping it original suits me - you don't get to see many orange indicators these days in a world of look-a-like SUV's & certainly keeps it recognisable!

I'm pleased with the less instantly visible mods, the headlight upgrades were well worth it

broken bracket will explain my very noisy compressor!

Was intending to investigate the increased racket when it ran, but a yellow light and warning of "special programmes disabled" accelerated that plan - fault code was for air supply

I've gone and got an amazon "Hitachi style" pump for now to get it back up and running and will rebuild the original and keep for when the cheaper one is likely to fail... ordered the new bracket and install kit from advanced factors and will hopefully be with me mid week!

So pretty much a year to the day I got a new battery.... went out this morning and it would turn over for a nano-second and then nothing Evil or Very Mad

At least it's following a pattern ... for the last 3 years I've bought a new battery every September Shocked

oh and just to update - last month had upper & lower front arms, drop-links and anti-roll bar bushings done - alongside a serious tracking session - now feels lovely!

My mate called it "Triggers Discovery" the other day Very Happy

Not updated much for a while, but "triggers landrover" is still being upgraded as I go - I have a leak from the reservoir that may be valve block so that's next on the list - also have a FBH service to do!

Dropped of my trusty Jimny for its MOT today at my friendly garage - this was half on the ramps!

So have serviced the FBH - now after not starting at all it is starting 1 in 3 times I'd say, so will see about changing some of the components - but cleaning the burn chamber definitely improved things

I did manage to go out on Salisbury plain for some impromptu off-roading with my youngest, nothing major and sketchiest part was having to turn around on a sunken track and getting it on 3 wheels and burying the towbar into the bank Shocked - only went out for a walk but decided I'd best get it muddy as live near the plains but never been out on them

I also time-lapsed myself jet washing it ..... I'm not sure why but hadn't used the feature of my phone before and it's oddly satisfying to watch....

well - sad day, dropped it off at webuyanycar.com this afternoon - got offered £3.8k for it with 152k miles, they knocked me down to £3.6k as was due MOT and Service in a week, along with a few battle scars on the body work for a further reduction Neutral

Alas I have a company car on order, and with my eldest now running a freelander 2 (which will be mine to use when he's at Uni) something had to give as I had one car too many for parking spots and at 18 can't get him insured sensibly on my disco

worked out that in the 3 years I've owned it I've probably spent around £4k on it (just had all front wishbones e.t.c.) - bought it for £8k and had a car allowance of £7k ish every year for 3 years and in that time I put 50k miles on it - so it's been a bargain in theory and honestly the best car I've ever owned (and the one I've kept the longest so far!)

Will still be lurking around anyway, friends/family have disco's so not going to miss them, but will genuinely miss this particular one Big Cry

I'm not going to miss driving around with half my tools in the rear and a bunch of spares "just in case" Laughing

Well it's a pity you had to pull the trigger on the D3, but I'll wager now you'll be back. Smile

Another D3, or maybe a D4, but either way we'll see you again sooner than you think! Thumbs Up
