After several months of skulking around the forum, I'm soon to become a bona-fida member.
I wanted an amazing deal (verging on unrealistic) on a TDV6 HSE & a contact who recently left L/R management steered me towards T.H.White (Swindon).
I visited T.H.White in Jan. for a test drive & a chat & was v. impressed, a totally different experience from the Bristol dealer. They did not dismiss my target price, but made it clear that they wouldn't know if it could be met until the end of the quarter.
Well, the deal has been done, I have just paid the deposit on a Java Black, Ebony interior HSE, with rubber mats throughout (inc. boot), removable tow bar, lockable crossbars, F&R mudflaps & body mouldings. Will be registered this week.
Bad news is, I don't have time to collect it before a week on Sat. at the earliest
Have to admit that I've had many second thoughts about the potential reliability of the D3, but will keep every possible body part crossed.
This site is an amazing source of info. & a big thanks to you all. Look forward to eventually meeting some you.

TH White is my local dealer - I can pop over and pick it up for you and run it in a bit...
You've made the right choice, no question - welcome to the family!

I've been chanting the above every night for the last few months!
Thanks.
Guy, I'll pass on your generous offer this time , but if you're passing you could stop off & tell me how good it looks though

VA - When are you going to do the decent thing and trade your Blingmobile for a proper D3? You seem much more at home here than on the 'other' forum...

JMC - the bling mobile will be staying, hopefully soon I'll get Mrs VA the D3. I just love shoving £48,000 worth of car through the mud! Loving the power of the TDV8!

Can't wait to see Mrs VA dragging you out of 60cm of water (RRS wading depth is only 50cm V's D3's 70cm). Then she can be the rescuer of RRS's

T.H. Whites at Wootton Bassett, Swindon are my local dealers too, and I would heartily reccomend anyone going to see them.
Not only do they have a friendly and knowledgeable sales staff their servicing department have proven to perform miracles also.
I've now had 6 x Discos all from T.H. Whites, know all the staff, and value their commitment to looking after me as a valued customer. Even when the going got tough with my D3's foibles they always assisted me in all manner possible so that I wasn't stuck for a vehicle and have always strived to sort out all the gremlins in my cars.
This dealership has a very good reputation, which hopefully all can testify to.
