LED rear bulbs
I would like to retain the OEM rear lenses, however am thinking of replacing all the rear bulbs.
Was wondering if anyone could advise which one's are the best one's to go for ?
Where can they be purchased and can you help me out with part numbers etc. Are the rear lenses easily
removed ?
Would appreciate your comments/any pics people have taken.
Regards
Andy (Kidz).

Cant remember exact specs but try Ultra Leds web site - they supplied mine a couple of years ago - there is a thread somewhere
Removal of lenses is really easy - open tailgate, remove two srews and pull lens away hard - sometimes helps to use a non scatching blunt tool like a spatula to lever away - actually explains in handbook
Look great when fitted - I went LED mad and replaced the lot

you could replace the fog light bulbs with these not sure if they are H8 or H11 but both are available
Kidz - I think Ultraleds stopped selling these ones (U38048R), not sure why because in my opinion, they were the best:
I think this pic of Nessie's D3 shows them in action, "after changing the left side with LED's, applying brake"
However, it turned out that the guy who ran ultraleds was a so I personally would not choose to put any business his way anyway.
So, now that I've rubbished the competition, would you like to buy those four replacement bulbs from me? They're 2 years old, the cost me £35 and you can have them for £20. I've gone for the bling led cluster option so I don't need them any more.

glad you highlighted the attitude of the er at UltraLEDs. DO NOT USE THEM/HIM.
A lot of members have had issues with him and products, and when you contact him we get the blub of its a million pound turnover business and he could'nt give a toss bout the odd failure.

Foolishly (or not) I bought some LED stop and tail bulbs from Halfords out of the sale bin (got 4 for £10.00). Fitted ok, no probs with side lights then switched on ignition to try brake lights then came the HDC warning / light on the message centre, with special programmes not available. Although the lights did still work tail and stop with engine running.
Searched for threads about inline resisters but couldn't find it, any ideas or is the other bulbs on here direct replacement. Don't know if it makes any difference but I have retro fitted the holders on both rear lights to accommodate twin stop and tail lights with no problems running standard bulbs.
Any suggestions guys (and gals)!

Dunc, after the purchase of 4 Cooper Discoverer ST's I thought I would sneak this one in under the radar , I think I would change the front lights first given any spare cash to the xenon's.
It worked ok with LED's in the top and normal bulbs in the bottom but looked pant's and prob expect to get pulled quicker by plod than LED's all round at the rear.

Apparently LED light bulbs are illegal. Didn't realise that until I read an article about it the other day. The lense has to be approved for LED usage.
