I doubt I’ll use the web browser. I’ve got a data sim in so get street view, satellite views and traffic updates.

@J77
congrats Smile
your new velar looks nice Razz
but as the very first LRs, defenders, later discos, I prefer our D3.
comfy and distinctive
other modern cars/brands look very similar. in my opinion very minor differences with SW and HW.
may be i am old fashion, yes.. i am.
good luck Very Happy

You’ve inspired me to get it working this weekend; I put a data sim in there over 11,000 miles ago and have done nothing with it since! Rolling Eyes

Well 4 weeks in and the Velar is booked in for its first trip to the dealers Big Cry

Surprisingly it’s not electrical, there’s a sort of thud/thump coming from the N/S rear when going over speed bumps/cushions or potholes.

So booked in initially for diagnostics they call it but basically a test drive with a tech.

Other than that I’m well pleased with the car.

Gotta say the Velar is one hot piece of kit.

I have the D4 going in for a service and have specifically requested a Velar or a D5 for the day .... I'm really really hoping it's the Velar ! Will report back with initial findings after lurchers and kids have also tested it out.

I’m loving the Velar, it’s a joy to drive. The 2.0 ain’t bad, a bit hesitant at times but goes like s Censored t off a shovel when it needs to.

I am interested to know what kind of subscribtion you need. I have a data sim in my -ordered- F-Type,
don't have a clue how much you need to navigate and stuff. It has these remote apps and tracker,
so some data for locating it is needed. I hope the satnav is not updated 'by air' .. Shocked

Anybody of you has a fancy car with this feature and has a clue how many Gb is needed per month/mile?

I bought a sim from Amazon preloaded with 24GB of data, get 2 years to use it. On the Three network.

It was recommended by the D5 lot, that’s where I’ve been getting info from Thumbs Up . The Velar forum ain’t much use, it’s time Martin set one up.

I checked it, and it sounds like a good deal , about GBP 22- per year.. . But its UK only...

But I'll try to find an offer like this on the continent, its an option I didn't think of , prepaid bulk data..

Thumbs Up

But you can roam at no cost with it, you may have to initially use it in the UK first?

Not if it's the same as their 1gb or 3gb sims, I've kicked those off in Norway and Finland (or was it Sweden) and they just work straight out the pack. Thumbs Up

I think its worth too gamble, as its crazy cheap.. Cheapest I can get here on a prepaid SIM
appears to be € 0,05 per Mb... For 23Gb that would be.. € 1.150,- ??? Big Cry
