Lifting the centre console

To save me searching gallery after gallery, does anyone have a link to a set of 'Tips' etc to lifting the the centre console on a D3 Auto.

I'm installing my Parrot Mki9200 this weekend and am hoping to lift it and install the Blue Box underneath.

If nothing else I need to run the CT10LR02 ISO adaptor cable under it to the back of the amp.

I've managed to remove the facia around the head unit etc but can't see how to get the panels around the gear lever, terrain responce controls etc up.

Any help to save me breaking something would be appreciated.

Thanks

Nasher.

My Blue Box Here

It is a tight fit, but the cables I found are short, so for me it was the best place I found.

Thanks Macleod, I did look there first having seen that image before when you posted it.

The Blue box I have appears to be so much larger, it will fit vertically down on the drivers side, and it may well end up there. I do however need to get under the console to run the adaptor cable to the back of the Amp. The bulky ISO connectors between the Parrot cable and adaptor cable also need somewhere to live, and because of the length of the cables have to go under the console.

Plus it appears that at some time somebody has spilt something like hot chocolate or a milkshake all over the centre console as on very close inspection all the gaps are full of it. So I'd like to strip it down and clean it all out.

Thanks Martin

Trouble is it's the initial bit not covered in those instructions that I need first.
ie, how to get the gear knob off, then the Ride height and optimisation panel.

Are those instructions available anywhere I can access them?

Actually I have remebered the rest now.

All the TR and suspension connect via multiple plugs (in a dip under the approximate area of the yellow HDC switch. The panel holding these TR gearstick etc runs all the way from your fridge to your front cupholders and comes off as one (held by approx 6 stiff clips, but don't be scared Of em. I am on my phone so can't link a thread - if you search +console +fitting I think you will find the fridge fitting which details this.

As for getting the "bottom" of the console up - I think that you will find enough space inside, perhaps right at the very front under the area of the ashtrays

Yep, pull gear knob up firmly to remove.

TR panel, including gear knob PDF: http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/use...Switch.pdf

Apply upwards pressure at the front on the TR panel as it's hooked under the trim at the rear. Watch out for the spring clips on the TR panel, check you've got them all once it's off!

For the main console there is usually one only screw used, the one holding the EPB switch in place, the one shown in the PDF on the other side under the rubber tray and plastic insert isn't fitted AFAIK.

Why are you going anywhere near the amp?

Thanks for the tips and links guys, feel confident I can do it now.

Because on the logic 7 system thats where the connectors are that the CT10LR02 ISO adaptor cable plugs in to.

It's a Connects2 cable designed that way specifically for the D3(4?) and RRSport.
It saves all the pin swapping that others have had to resort to in the past to get the likes of parrot kits to work with the HK system.

Looking at this lead it seems to break into the speaker connections on the output of the amp. Is that right?

If so, then you'll be using the small amp of the Parrot kit instead of your HK setup when listening to music.

Very interested to know how you get on and whether you're satisfied with the result Thumbs Up

That makes it much more complicated than it really needs to be. I had the console out yesterday and all I had to do was pull the gear lever off, remove the torx screen under the EPB lever and then give a good tug to the plastic on either side. The bit nearest the dash comes off first and then another tug near the armrest cubby does the trick. The wiring can be removed to enable the whole lot to come free but I don't bother.
