Hey Marc, Mattblack59bus,
i've gone through all the 'gear knob light' threads and you've been very active about the problem.
Do you have any progress you want to share?
mine stopped working last week and there are 2 thinks i dont accept:
- paying hundreds for it to replace whole unit
- leave to green light off.
love to hear your deepdive-details about all this!

danielo84 - if it does not bother you leave it as long as selector works and car ingages right mode of operation
solution two if under warranty get it swapped with dealers
solutiopn 3 less painfull than going to dealers lol find selctor on ebay (i found RRS one and it took like 20 min to swap out the unit)
still works fine , I looked into old module / selector and I think one can fix it providing good electronics knowledge and access to certain parts but too much faff for me
