"Line in active" - poverty spec audio

Heard a bit on the radio the other day about how many of us don't use the functions on our tech and it got me to wondering what the envelope symbol on my poverty spec D4 audio display meant...

After a bit of fiddling I got the message below up on the screen.

Does anyone know what this means? - if there is a 'line in' socket somewhere then where is it? - if its something that I can get as an 'add on' then where can I get it, how does it connect and what can I connect to it? Been spoiled recently as the old 110 DCPU I have bought has a head unit that Bluetooth's to my iPhone so I can listen to play lists on it & would love to be able to do the same in the D4 even if I have to use a hard wire connection.

Thanks in advance for the wealth of knowledge I know will give me the answer from the forum.

Isn't 'Aux in' the 3.5" sockets dotted around the vehicle? You should at least have one at the back of the mid console. Dave

Still confused...

So, I have bought a 3.5mm aux lead which I plugged into the socket in the rear of the centre console & into my iPhone 6, set the stereo to aux position & played my music on the phone - result is no sound out of the car speakers. Am I missing something basic or is there a compatibility issue with the iPhone or something?

Any help much appreciated.

Turn phone volume right up and you also need car stereo volume up loud too.
It loses volume using the aux socket.
Have a search for aux input mod on here.

Bought a cheap iPod off the 'Bay and it works a treat so now have access to all my playlists in one handy location and no need to have a car full of CDs
