Living with STT's

Well put my STT's/17's on for the first time for Tong on Sunday.

Did they Work?
by eck, did they? ....absolute fanbloodytastic.
But didn't have time to change back to my road wheels on Sun eve.
So, just used them on a 650 mile trip from North Yorks down through Cambs, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, London and back home.

Could I run these every day?
There is a whooping noise [almost as reported earlier, like failed wheel bearings].
However you could get used to that [ esp turning up the radio volume].
Found the front end a little 'pointy' at low speeds.
And found it 'twitchy' on fast M'way/'A' road bends.

Would I run these every day?
Affraid not, but mainly cos of the distances covered.
Also, they look naff on 'the Beast' compared to my road wheel/tyre combo.
Going to change them back over tomorrow.
But, I will possibly run these daily when/if the snow gets here.
In the meantime, they're aint anything to beat my Stormer/Grabber road wheels.

I know some say, that equiped with Off Road tyres, they know they can encounter any problems that arise.
As a counter argument, with road tyres, you are able to pick up the pace on Tarmac because the tyres are not restricted in performance/handling.
You'll gain one way but lose in the other - no matter what tyre you have fitted - road or off-road..
