Thanks Del!

I'm pretty sure the standard D4 will be M1 and the commercial D4 should be N1 as it's an LGV under 3500KGs.

Joe, my V5 says N1.

Just re read the letter I received, and it clearly says N1 is £12.50.

Also checked my emissions and it's Euro 5.

Am going to give them a call.

Thanks Joe

RESULT

Sent off yet another enquiry yesterday as despite information to the contrary, their phone number is unavailable, and attached both V5s, this time telling them that the documents clearly says class N1.

Received an email back today saying the charge will be only £12.50, not the £100 as stated previously.

Top marks for responding withing 24hrs, however, it's the same member of staff who got it so wrong just a month ago.

Anyway, thanks to all and especially Joe who pointed out the obvious that I had missed.

Luxembourg

Hello All,

I am traveling over to the UK on Sunday, and next week I have to enter the ULEZ zone for one day.

I am driving a D5 tdv6, and the fantastic system for the ULEZ cannot deal with my D5 as it is not registered in the UK.

I have 2 questions...

1. I have tried sending then the information on my CoC that shows the CO2 levels etc, but they have just written back claiming that my 2018 D5 that is Euro6-d compliant is not ULEZ compliant. How can I sort this out?

2. Is there anyone on this site that lives abroad that has entered the ULEZ without paying and has actually received the fine? I once drove over the dartford crossing and forgot to pay (after they got rid of the toll barriers) and never received anything.

Thanks for your comments/assistance.

Nick

I would not bother paying, your car is clearly compliant and TFL are clearly clueless so Censored them.

It looks like ulez will expand to the m25 ring road next year with local businesses being warned of the impending doom if there vehicles do not meet the required standards.

I live and work just outside the zone (by about half a mile) which suited me and my disco just fine until this bellend Mr Khan realised he was not earning enough from the current zone and decided to expand it. I'm absolutely gutted TBH, i love my disco and would have most likely kept it for at least another 10 years, it dose absolutely everything i need it to. From towing the tin tent to collecting firewood and playing dads taxi. I don't have the 20k plus for a compliant d4 and struggling to find anything that comes anywhere close to the d3. Yet if my motor was 40 years old and smoking like and old bus it would still be exempt.
Bloody stupid, Censored you Mr Khan.

Luxembourg

I managed to get it registered in the end, but had to try 3 times. They didn't accept the official Certificate of Conformity. Probably because it didn't have the registration plate mentioned on it, even though it DID have the Chassis number. They didn't accept the Car Papers because they don't show the CO2 levels.
I then scanner the two TOGETHER, and sent them in, and suddenly it went through, but that get the confirmation the day AFTER I had been in.

Honestly... I went in, came out, and thought to hell with it. If they REALLY want to send me the fine in Luxembourg, then they can do it.

I would then have contested it, and it would have cost them more in trying to enforce it, then the value of the fine.

BUT... nothing since I cam over, so I think that they accepted it even though the approval was given 24 hours after I went in.

It's very unlikely that they would have bothered you as they do not have access to foreign number plate databases to trace you, this includes parking and speeding tickets Thumbs Up
