Looking for a leak?
I noticed a small oil stain on the drive today. So had a look under the wifes Freelander and no oil leak, although it has only just got back on the road after being SORN'd for the last few months.
Noticed this however under the rear of mine -
Now i'm not technical, so no idea what it is or what it does, but the slight leaking around it doesn't look right
Any experts care to offer an opinion?
also noticed this -
No i know the shock absorber is OK, but this gaiter appears to be a bit lopsided compared to the other side.
Any thoughts?

As for the leak ..jet wash it off , and see if it comes backG4 Gone ...but not forgotten
The airspring in that second picture doesn't look right at all May be worth putting it in off road height and checking the rubber for damage, or getting a dealer to take a look at it.Previously:

Looks like the bottum off the gaiter is loose too. I don't know if that is normal or not. I'll check.Roel

It was raining so I did it quickly. but it looks to me that your lower part is loose around the damperner and mine clearly not. But I am not sure what is right or wrong.Roel

Thanks for the answers. SWMBO has taken the car to work, so can't play with it know. Will have a play in the morning with the offroad height (picture was taken in off road height) and see if it sorts itself out, otherwise i'll drop into the stealers on Monday.
cheers

Give the gaiters a squirt of silicone spray one it is fixed to help them seat properly. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
