Looking for a remote turn on for additional amp - help!!

Hi All,
I have the HK - High Line with an amp under the RHD front seat. The sound system overall is OK but I do not like the DSP done by the oem system. For example the sub is tuned too low. I like the bass tight and punchy - so missing frequencies in the 90hz to 150hz. And the subwoofer seems to be tuned to 60hz and below and its too underpowered as those sort of frequencies need a lot of power to produce effectively. So at the moment I can hardly hear the sub.

My longterm plan is to upgrade the amplifier and the speakers in the near future - (using a mobridge M1000 DA1)

Right now I want to add a JL 8" sub in a ported box possibly under one of the third row seats. And a JL 600/1 mono amp under the middle row seats.

Power: I am running a new 4 awg (20mm) cable from the battery to the back.
Negative: Nearest to the amp within 3 feet.

RCA: (line level)
I am using a Audio Control LC2i and plan to tap into the oem amps sub speaker wires. Reading through the forums - it seems these wires are 7, 8, 15 & 16 from the green speaker connector on the oem amp.

I know the green connector is the speaker wires, and there is another one to the far right for the MOST cables. I assume the grey one on left is Power and Ground. What are the two connectors with the yellow wires?

Is there a remote switch on wire on these amps? or is it controlled by MOST?
Any idea where I could get a 12v remote switch wire? Something like a antenna wire will do.

Hoping Mr Wiggs will come to the rescue.
Cheers

Imsy

Assuming my reply is ok instead of Wiggs Wink

The yellow wires are for the headphone sockets.

For a 12V "infotainment on" you will probably have to bring one from the head unit, or alternatively one of the other modules on the system which are woken up using this signal. Look for a thin blue wire (no coloured stripe) or purple with a white stripe.

Where do you need this switch on wire, under the front seat or in the back? If the back you will pick it up from one of the antenna amps.

The sub woofer wires are indeed 7, 8, 15, 16 on the green connector.

They are paired though, for Sub 1 pin 7 is -ve, 15 +ve; for Sub 2 8 is -ve and 16 is +ve.

Hi Martin,
Of course your help is very much appreciated!!!

I was dreading to open up the front dash. So I will use your suggestion to look for a remote wire in the back as the amp will be installed under the middle row seats. I will try to find either the thin blue wire or the purple with a white stripe. Are they likely to be in the kick panels or the side panels in the boot?

I have a ipod module under LHD seat. Also I should have a BT module somewhere.
I also have touchscreen NAV - so there maybe a HDD drive somewhere.

Thank you so much - Martin.
Excellent forum by the way. Full of knowledgeable "hackers"!! Very Happy
