Lost keys (BOTH of them...)
Having never lost a set of keys in my life... I lost the spare for my D4 a month ago; and I’ve now lost the main key... in other words; both keys are missing and I have no way of getting into the car / driving it.
What to do?
I’ll call Land Rover assist tomorrow; but what can they do?

A couple of years ago i had my only key for my RRS nicked while i was on holiday in Jamaica (car in jet parks at manchester airport)
Ended up ordering a key to chassis number from guy salmon at stockport for when we got home and a techie came out and programmed it to the car there and then. Was a pain but could have been much worse. Ended up costing me about £380 altogether with labour and calloutPrevious Discos

Ouch! I’ll wait and see if I can find he key tomorrow but if I can’t then it’s two new keys time.
Key wise, must it be bought through main dealer?? And is there a set cost for them?

The cost if i remember right was about £170 for a genuine key, the rest was labour. The key if ordered to VIN number comes with the Key blade pre-cut to suit the car but the remote part needs programming.
In my case the car was stuck in the airport carpark and i was at the other side of the world trying to sort it for when we got home after our hand luggage was stolen .
Because the key came pre cut the LR guy was able to get into the car using the passenger door lock and turn the ignition on (2008 RRS-similar to D3) and access the diagnostics to program the new key
Not sure how it would work with the keyless D4/later RRS though. If ordered to VIN they may come pre programmed or i do not know how the ignition could be switched on to enable programming??Previous Discos

You can get a genuine blank fob (with electronics) from eBay for around £50 - £60. Once you get access back to the car, find someone who can then program that. i.e. only pay full price for the one that gets you back mobile.Tony

D4 keyless fobs have an enclosed emergency key blade, well the MY12 ones I've got do. So if ordered to VIN would be able to gain access to the car.MY12 D4 HSE Ipanema Sand

Yes
The handle has the key blade operativity, if you order the key with VIN you'll open the car with the new blade.Discovery 5 tdv6 HSE Corris Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition

Won’t using the emergency lock in the passanger door set the alarm off, with no way of shutting it up?

Thank you to everyone for the replies! It’s been an eye opener. Rather than pay out; I rolled my sleeves up, intent on finding my keys - or at least one of them. After two days of searching, I’ve found both! MASSIVE relief.
I have bought some cheap key tracker thing that; as long as it’s in the house, I’ll be able to find it.
These smart keys are a reminder of days gone by, when a spare car key was cheap

It's not like it's all that loud though. I can't hear mine on the drive if the house windows are shut 1995 Discovery 1 300TDI
