Unless all the parts are freebies, I'd say the "known working" jag engine would be the better route. But, hey, someone has to be the first to try it.  .

Thanks all. I'm being told first step is get the rocker cover off and see if I can see any obvious damage. I have no garage so this is going to be a roadside project.
