Low power below 2000 rpm and excessive mpg. |
|
Hi all, my 2008 disco 3 diesel manual gearbox blew the plastic inlet manifold. Which was replaced ever since then the engine lacks power at low revs and the fuel economy has gone through the roof from 26-28 mpg to just 22 mpg if I drive steady. It's been in the garage everything tests ok. The injectors are in there normal test range I've been told. Fuel filters been changed to eliminate that. I've been told the next course of action is to send the injectors away to be fully tested on a diagnostic machine. Can anyone help. Thanks chris

EGR's ? Did they cause the inlet manifold fault in the first place ?

Just a quick thing, have you checked your MAP sensor is cludged up. Possibly what you say is a bit more extreme than the usual experience when they are, but mine was all yucky and the car was just a little less eager and couple of MPG down.
Simple to check, and clean with a cloth and a bit of electrical contact cleaner spray, so worth a look Disco 3: Lotus Elise S1: Ferguson T20: Audi A2
